German Tour 2007
Allan Yn Y Fan - "Blackwood's best local band" (The Independent) "Wales top Twmpath Band " (BBC Radio 2) - has just returned from a highly successful four date tour of Germany. Highlights included a return to the beautiful Traumzeit Theatre in Backnang (where the accompanying tour pic was taken); a triumphant first gig at the new Towers Irish Pub in Ludwigsburg (Caerphilly's twin town); a sell-out concert at Kulturespeigel Möglingen plus a return gig at Café Radlos, Nördlingen as part of the amazing Mediaeval Festival that envelops the whole town once every three years. It was really special to return to this last event.
Playing their unique mix of Welsh, self-composed and other Celtic tunes, Allan Yn Y Fan on this their third visit to Germany have struck a deep reponse with the people of Baden Würtemburg and Bavaria. Press interest in the tour was very high with preview articles, interviews and exceptional reviews.
During the tour, arranged by band friend Thomas Roth of the Geyers, the concerts were recorded with the view of a possible live album for release in 2008.
The German Tour completes a highly successful summer in 2007 when, despite the weather, Allan Yn Y Fan enjoyed playing at some of Britain's best festivals including Priddy in Somerset, Llangollen International Eisteddfod; Sesiwn Fawr Dolgellau and Brampton Live Cumbria.
Back on home ground the band continue to play for people's special events in the run-up to Christmas whilst looking forward to their fourth German tour in 2008.
